Reptar

Reptar is an indie pop band originally from Athens, Georgia, formed in 2008. The band takes its name from the character Reptar, a fictional dinosaur from the animated television series "Rugrats". Reptar's music is characterized by its infectious energy, eclectic sound, and vibrant, colorful performances.

The band gained attention with their debut EP titled "Oblangle Fizz Y'all" in 2011, which featured the popular tracks "Stuck in My ID" and "Houseboat Babies". These songs showcased Reptar's signature blend of danceable rhythms, catchy melodies, and quirky lyrics, drawing comparisons to bands like Talking Heads and Animal Collective.

Reptar's debut full-length album, "Body Faucet", was released in 2012 to critical acclaim. The album further solidified the band's reputation for their eclectic and adventurous approach to pop music, incorporating elements of indie rock, electronic, and world music into their sound. Tracks like "Sebastian" and "Orifice Origami" highlighted Reptar's knack for crafting infectious hooks and dynamic arrangements.

Over the years, Reptar has toured extensively, sharing stages with notable acts such as Foster the People, Grouplove, and The Flaming Lips. Their energetic live performances, characterized by frenetic dancing and audience engagement, have earned them a dedicated fan base and established them as a must-see act in the indie music scene.

Following the release of "Body Faucet", Reptar continued to evolve their sound with their sophomore album, "Lurid Glow", released in 2015. The album showcased a more refined and polished sound while retaining the band's trademark exuberance and experimental spirit. Tracks like "Ice Black Sand" and "Amanda" demonstrated Reptar's growth as songwriters and musicians, exploring themes of identity, relationships, and self-discovery.
