Betty Blowtorch

Betty Blowtorch was an all-female punk rock band known for their high-energy performances, irreverent lyrics, and bold attitude. Formed in 1998 in Los Angeles, California, the band quickly gained a reputation for their raucous live shows and provocative stage presence.

The lineup of Betty Blowtorch consisted of vocalist Bianca Butthole (real name Bianca Halstead), guitarists Blare N. Bitch (real name Sharon Needles) and Sharon Needles (real name Sharon Hinkley), bassist Judy Molish (real name Judy Cocuzza), and drummer Sharon Needles (real name Sharon Hinkley). Their stage names added to their punk rock image and rebellious persona.

Betty Blowtorch released their debut album, "Are You Man Enough?" in 2001, which featured a mix of punk rock anthems and tongue-in-cheek humor. Tracks like "Size Queen" and "Hell on Wheels" showcased the band's raw energy and Butthole's powerful vocals, while their cover of Pat Benatar's "Heartbreaker" added a playful twist to a classic rock song.

Despite their rising success, tragedy struck Betty Blowtorch in 2001 when Bianca Butthole died in a car accident at the age of 36. The band's future was uncertain following her death, but they continued to perform and released a posthumous EP titled "Last Call" in 2003, featuring previously unreleased tracks and live recordings.

Betty Blowtorch's legacy lives on as pioneers of the punk rock scene, breaking barriers and challenging stereotypes in a male-dominated genre. Their fearless approach to music and unapologetic attitude inspired countless fans and paved the way for future generations of female rockers.
